I would make the comparison based on the complacency of the general population and how they react to even more and more restrictive measures imposed by their governments. That one was tyrannical and the other one is quickly catching up.

But like the boots on the socialists back before the bullets pierces their skull, people like Doug Little here will distort the issue and defend the current government. Only because it lines up with their flavour of the month.
