I have a Western Digital Caviar Green (AF) WD15EARS-00Z5B1 with over 9.5 years of powered on time, and no errors.
@xyfdi I'm kinda blessed, I can't ever recall having a serious drive failure. The only drive I can remember failing was one I had kept away in storage for about a year, and then after a few days of trying to write the BTC blockchain to it, it died.

I had kept this WD Green in the exact same storage. It had been not used for like a full year, and despite that it went on to work fine.

Its almost like one of those disks that keep spinning and spinning for years on end until a sudden reboot and the motor just isn't stronk enough to cycle-up again.
( Or these rare cases in which the oil dries up and the rotating rust doesn't rotate anymore. )
