I'm proud to present a new AI feature, I've implemented in #FluffyChat. I replaced the "SEND" button with AI. It makes things so much easier. Instead of manually pushing a button to send a message like a caveman, the AI detects automatically when you finish typing and sends the input of the textfield. This leads to a much less cluttered UI and a better user experience. The error rate is minimal.
Stay tuned for more AI features in FluffyChat implemented on a timestamp like TODAY
woah today I learned that if you connect to Matrix with FluffyChat or Cinny then you get custom user stickers and emoji, its like Discord or Telegram but easier!
#FluffyChat now displays all of your #matrix push rules in the settings in a user friendly interface. You can enable/disable them and delete custom push rules if needed.
In the future I might add a poweruser editor for new push rules. Aiming to support as many features of matrix push rules as possible.
Matrix client "FluffyChat" has been updated to version 1.23.0. This update adds the option for emoji only messages, redesigns the login page, adds more cllor options, and more. and more. The code to FluffyChat is licensed using AGPL3.0. You can find FluffyChat on FlatHub; F-Droid; the AUR; and some distro repos.
The project's main website is here:
The source code is on Github:

If you wish to support the FluffyChat project you can do so by supporting developer Krille Fear on Ko-Fi and Liberapay:
The cutest messenger in the Matrix network
fluffychat.im FluffyChat v1.23.0 is here!
You can now send multiple files at once. The login page got a redesign with SSO as the new default action (legacy password login still available in the context menu at the top right corner).
MAS account settings now available in the profile, making FluffyChat ready for the Matrix OIDC change!
Lot's of new colors and style settings with much better chat wallpapers also landed in this release.

Today I implemented advanced style settings for #fluffychat with much more colors and the ability to blur the wallpaper. Also fixed a bug which made a wallpaper always look too downscaled
...and it broke.
Well, actually #fluffychat itself probably did nothing but since yesterday the backspace button on the - i assume newly updated - #osk on #phosh does not seem to register in fluffychat anymore.
while that is a little frustrating, the text highlighting function has gotten an update as well and not i can easily mark and just replace text. its not perfect but it is bearable.
nobody said #dogfooding #postmarketos would be easy. :)
its official! i managed to port the current version of the #fluffychat matrix client back to aarch64 as flatpak.
the embarassing part is that I didnt get it to work due to #postmarketOS funny update mechanic which breaks apps at times. lmk if you want to test it. :)
going to give #element a try as my main #matrix client for both #linux and #android. was using #fluffychat on android and #nheko on linux till now.
I'm still a matrix noob and feel like element might be a better client for noobs. the nheko interface sometimes was confusing to me. it is probably less confusing to people who are already familiarized with matrix itself.
About the authenticated media endpoints Matrix is using, I try to push a new release candidate of FluffyChat today which supports those and then release it as soon as possible.
So hopefully nothing will break
For server devs: FluffyChat will also look into the `unstable_features` for the "org.matrix.msc3916.stable" key. This way you can implement it on the server without the full v1.11 feature set
FYI: A ton of third party #Matrix clients use the deprecated #libolm library for end-to-end encryption which suffers from multiple vulnerabilities:
https://soatok.blog/2024/08/14/security-issues-in-matrixs-olm-library/
libolm has been deprecated for a while now.
There is a "new" #Rust based crypto library called #vodezemac that has been used by the official #Element clients for about 2 years.
Personal recommendation: Only use Element / #ElementX for now, #FluffyChat and #Nheko are working on their clients:

I don’t consider myself exceptional in any regard,…
Dhole MomentsHah! I fixed the codec problem. Now #FluffyChat on iOS can play ogg files (by converting it to caf before) and also FluffyChat now records with opus/ogg codecs if the platform supports it, which should be the case on all Android devices and newer iOS devices.
Also tested with the WhatsApp bridge. Finally I can send voice messages to my friends on WhatsApp
#FluffyChat v1.21.2 has been released and is right now available in all AppStore (except F-Droid). This release brings several
bug fixes and a
security fix.
Rooms without a known last message are no longer jumping around in the room list and the last message in the room list now also decrypts when keys are coming afterwards.
Also a (security related) bug, where the app tried to load images from arbitrary urls, has been fixed.
@vaartis @disarray #FluffyChat is pretty good though
For the record, #fluffychat, another Matrix client, was the first application supporting UnifiedPush, 3 years ago. Thanks again for the impetus you gave to the project :)
