The axiom is:
Muslims generally are extremely polite, hospitable, friendly and loyal when in their own countries with you as their guest.
Muslims generally are unstrustworthy, secretive, wary and shady when not living in their own countries.
One of my closest friends, who I consider my blood brother, is a Gulf Arab. My age. Two kids already. Comfortable job. Good life.
But even he aknowledges these simple facts. His Ibadi faith preaches honesty and integrity as key virtues. To me, he's the closest approximation of what a truly pious individual should be like.
