Theory: Murderous jealousy exists because of evolution. Think about it, in the wild it is common for a woman to die in childbirth or to becomes maimed and unable to have more. So in a natural setting it could mean one woman, one baby. Now, imagine you see a woman with your competitor, sexually, and you become filled with rage. You not only kill him, but her as well. This is because you would rather destroy any potential competitors genes. So you're in israel 500 BC, someone fucks your wife, what do you do? You kill them both, simple as. Slingblade style. You kill him for making himself competition, and you kill her for collaborating with your competition.
