I'm crying. I just want it to end. I want my fedi frens back. I want the good times. I want them to talk to me, to keep me updated on their mental health, they were my support and I thought I was theirs.... what went wrong... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... I'm crying. A generation in internet years have gone by, I miss my fedi frens, I miss them. I can't stop crying. I'm going to go take a sedative to calm down. I need to stop crying.
@LukeAlmighty Happened to me around a decade ago when I was on Twitter, and again on here around the COVID era. I stopped trying and chose to focus on myself instead. I have a few people who've been around most of my life. They are what's important to me, not ephemeral acquaintances.

Yeah, it is really sad to see your friend groups move on.
I talked to a friend who organizes meetups recently about this very topic, and he told me, that the only thing he can do is to rebuild the group from ground up every 5-10 years, because they cannot be sustained. People always fall off eventually.
