Oh god the duality of man. I had a rodent infestation, I layed traps even though I hate killing. Snapped it. Thought I got it soon enough to stop infestation. Turns out nest was already made. Found baby mouse, scared, no life skills, can't bring myself to hurt it. Disarm all traps. Catch it with a net. I'm now raising the baby of the creature I killed via trap...I feel bad. It's socializing with me out of desperation, it's so scared and lonely it's taken to me and it's not even been 12 hours yet. It prefers to sit in my hand and be close to me, it's the size of a quarter and the weight of a feather, it is delicate and precious and I feel bad that I had to put my foot down regarding rodents and ending infestations before they begin in this shit hole I love in...but I might have a pet mouse now. Deer mouse I believe. I'll have to get a tank and make a space for it. Proper bedding is heat sterilized soil with alfalfa sprouts so the animal will feel at peace and not go insane from unnatural bullshit.
@Pedolove He doesn't seem to want milk but I'll keep replacing it for now in case he changes his mind. He will lap water off my finger if I offer it, and once he got a taste for it he went and drank from the small teeny tiny measuring cup I used as his water dish. Not deep enough to drown, small enough edges are never out of reach even from middle for him. I hope he grows ok. Eyes open, ears open, fur, movement, I really hope he's past the milk stage. He licked some apple but I don't think he has really eaten solid foods yet. I'll help him with nutrient pouches (apple sauce but eith me fruits and veg instead of just apples, it's what I mainly eat now.) to help him get the idea. I'll give him some shaved carrots too I think.

@Jazzy_Butts I am only going to use humane traps from now on if I can help it. I know mice are invasive and whatever but the one I've killed made me feel like shit and still kind of makes me feel like shit tbh.
