@LukeAlmighty Watching the video - OMFG

Why not just provide a Story/Cutscene-Only option with zero gameplay at this point?
@LukeAlmighty Also, what does it say about the artistic integrity and narrative cohesiveness of a game that's supposedly set in this incredibly dangerous, deadly world where people constantly get killed, having such braindead baby mode difficulty settings?

@ChristiJunior
How about the integrity of both main charakters killing hundreds of innocent people just so they can reach the target and then... let the target go.

Wow... such a redemption. If you see a murderer kill 114 people, but then you see them spare one, it's all ok... :AsukaSmug:

@LukeAlmighty Revenge Is Bad, so kill everyone EXCEPT the creature who wronged you.
@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior The only black lives that matter are those taken by wypepo, therefore it's okay.
@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior There's one game where this happened and it was actually good. If you can believe it, it was released by Ubisoft in 2009. It was called Assassin's Creed 2, and I wish it preserved its quality as it aged.

I actually didn't have a problem with how they did it because of the very real character development, the great gameplay, gripping narrative and memorable locales.

It did this very same trope but it was far more impacting because of just how everything lined up.

@Shining @ChristiJunior
To be honest, I hate that trope in general.... with ONE exception. It must be both painful and pragmatic to safe that one life.

Luke saving Vader for example. When Luke didn't kill Vader, he did it from pure moral standpoint, but that decision had a further impact on the story, since the vader then did decide to kill the emperor.

but in most cases, they just save that life, and that's all? It has no meaning, if the meaning of that act ends there.

@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior Correct: and this happened in this title, as well. In the next game, a series of events were machined to attempt to inhibit the son of the Pope, but he did not listen and it cost the both of them their lives.

It could have been avoided, yes - but the inevitable happened anyway, because of their particular allegiances

TLoU2 has no vision beyond showing you something shocking for its own sake.
@LukeAlmighty @Shining Also, Vader was Luke's father, and Luke saw parallels between the path Vader had taken, and the path he himself could take. Also, the super-evil Emperor WANTED Luke to kill Vader. Yeah, see, there it makes sense.

Here's what doesn't make sense: Not killing the creature who murdered your father figure because of a brief flashback of the victim you want to avenge. Not a flashback of him condemning revenge, not a flashback of him being hurt by his own lust for revenge, but a super-short flashback of him with his guitar. Maybe it's 2Deep4Me, maybe the guitar represents the preciousness and fragility of life to Ellie, but to me it just looks fucking retarded.
@ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty Big reach on the guitar.

For all we know, the flashback is of the tree the guitar was made from wishing that everyone involved just used it to fucking hang themselves, and by proxy, the player

How's that for symbolism
@ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty Life is so horrible and people are irredeemably evil, yet society is still compassionate enough to support so many retards and cripples that they're a viable target demographic.
@ArdanianRight @LukeAlmighty I mean, if Abby is actually a tranny...

But seriously, some types of games really shouldn't be super easy. Hell, when I made a Spooky snow level in Mario Maker 2, I made sure the level was more difficult than my earlier, more casual levels, because I wanted the player to be on edge and nervous while playing.
@ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty On Sony and reviews, a couple things to note:

On another title, Metal Gear Solid 5, Konami's deep pockets were able to buy good reviews. Despite it being an incomplete shitshow nightmare and one of the worst in the franchise, journalists let this fly under the auspices of Konami setting a rigid schedule and limiting what they could and couldn't say via an NDA that reached further than most any NDA in gaming before

Kojima didn't enjoy this same luxury with Death Stranding, despite being funded directly by Sony, therefore a lot of the reviews were less than kind to Norman Reedus and the Funky Fetus

Sony will pay it off when they think they're sitting on something valuable. I have something of a vested interest in seeing TLoU2 crash and burn because so many of the same people took a nuclear shit on Death Stranding
@Shining @LukeAlmighty Didn't Konami have a fucking review camp or something like that set up for MGS5?
@ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty Yeah. Konami really, really wanted those reviews so badly they paid Sony to go in between journalists to ensnare them in this crock. Not that I have much sympathy for them: most the time, they lead people astray

This is but one example of the glaring hypocrisy involved. Kojima didn't toe the line enough for batshit leftypol Sony despite being a shitlib himself, so they deferred to Dreck Man and his insipid creation to generate interest with the social justice crowd.

Death Stranding wanted to use surrogate futuristic concepts to explain the particulars of its lore (I won't go into spoilers here, I don't have much of a problem with that game other than its unremarkable landscape)

With MGS5, they didn't want to let it slip that the remaining three chapter (an entire 40 hours of story content vaporized from the script!) was cut from the game due to tensions between KP, Sony and Konami. Thus, did they invent the "review camp" method so Sony got what it wanted and Kojima and crew could get off relatively clean.

It didn't work in retrospect: each MGS game that preceded it was infinitely better. Everything in 5 was present in Peace Walker, the bones of that system are deep in 4, the stealth element with wearable camouflage (if a little convoluted) was present in 3, and the 3D stealth overhead gameplay was the cornerstone in 1 and 2.

MGS5 brought nothing new to the table. Sony knew, and still paid for top ratings, because that was their money maker.

@Shining @ChristiJunior

Funny. I actually loved MGS V, but I have also to say, that 1) the game is obviously incomplete and 2) I never played other metal gear before.

Still seems funny that such a good game would need so much manipulation. (releasing ground zero seriously didn't help though)

@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior It got shitcanned so hard, dude. It's obvious if you play the previous games: Kojima, eccentric and shit-eating as he is at times, at least checks his homework before he lets the teacher grade him.
@LukeAlmighty And then her fingers get bitten off, then she tries to play the guitar but can't. Joel was the load-bearing pillar that held up this franchise amid the forgettable gameplay and bleak world, but he was too much of an evil white male for Current Year, so the whole thing has to come crumbling down.

@ArdanianRight

I have to say, seing a girl being
brutally beaten... yeah, I get why jurnalists would love this game.

I would add /s, but I am seriously so confused by this, I have no idea how to even describe it.
