It might be so, but I believe the exact opposite. After we cut the funding from pointless degrees, it would be nice to have a rough competetion among teachers for a competetive pay.
The way it's now, any person who knows basics in a good field can make 5 times as much in field then teaching, leaving the teaching jobs to the incompetent.
who decides what degrees are pointless?
funding is often made by outside corporations and agencies who need that type of skill
