I know how hard the linux is for average user, It's too hard for me aswell.
But the worst parts of linux fit into 3 categories:
APP Stores
User elevation
Fyle system not having a standard disk:\folders structure.
And while most people do understand problems in 2nd and 3rd example, The app stores make linux look like a closed up toys. I know this is about perception, but I hope you get my point.

appstores
Why is this a bad thing it's such a good idea windows tried to copy it and faileduser evaluation
How hard is it to type your password or sudofile system blah blah
It makes sense everything is a file just because it's different doesn't mean it's bad it's just that your not used to it I find it very nice compared to windows where if you run out of drive letters you can't add more drives@Nonetrix @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz
You are blind to the complexity of the problem.
The user elevation is not about typing sudo su, but about making sure every aplication has the rights aswell. And that is both core of Linux security as well as it's total unusability.
Same thing goes for the file system. It's not about the name, it's that when you see many different folders in root folder, it hides the true location of the files when taken to hardware level.
In windows, you choose a disk, on it are a few files from OS, but the rest is users playgroung. The opposite is true for linux user, since he has to learn, where to even find his drives...
@LukeAlmighty@gameliberty.club @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz it just seems you came into Linux thinking it's like Windows don't expect it to be completely different because it is takes time to get used to it's not complex it's that your too used to windows once you get used to Linux it becomes easy
When you first got a computer it was probably hard to use because you didn't know how to use Windows same is true with Linux
@Zerglingman @Nonetrix @massiveracist@neckbeard.xyz Would you be so kind as to direct me to a DECENT guide of how to understand the entire file system mess?
Every video seems obsessed with telling me pointless details about each file, but none goes over the deep mechanisms, that seem tk be completely different.
As I say, most Linux users are either blind to complexity, or just enjoy laughing at plabs who don't get it.
I don't know of a good guide, offhand, but I can probably answer the question directly.
Some disk gets mounted at the top, /. Every other disk gets mounted somewhere inside it. Strongly recommend making /home be one of them, so that if you have to nuke the OS, your personal data is completely unaffected.
Also you can pretend things that are not disks are disks, and mount them too. Headaches ensue.
