I do not know you, so if what I say now does not fit, feel free to correct me.

But if you want him to accept no as no, you must NEVER use it as yes. I am trying to be ultra-brutally honest to my roommate, but I still do understand, when I had to reassure her several times that I meant no.

Because people do not communicate that way. Even autistic people like me preffer to say no when they mean yes. To deny this is to deny just how complicated human lifes truly are.
