Controller looks great, but without a custom OS, I don't think I would care to buy one...

@LukeAlmighty @pasture @steamdb says it's using an updated SteamOS and Proton, so definitely Linux on the backside. No reason yet to not think this won't be hackable

@lewdthewides @LukeAlmighty @pasture @steamdb In the FAQ on reservations at the end of linked page, it says under “Do I need a Steam account to use Steam Deck?”

“The default Steam Deck experience requires a Steam account (it’s free!). Games are purchased and downloaded using the Steam Store. That said, Steam Deck is a PC so you can install third party software and operating systems.”
