It's sad, but immigrants cannot negotiate for their job.
1) somethimes, they don't even speak the language
2) in most cases, the employer has even some legal leverage over them, in case they fuck up. (he can deport them)
3) they have no savings, as well as no chance of saving up.
When it comes to modern slavery, this is one of the few ways to do it these days.
@LukeAlmighty @picandor @deprecated All of those things make them more valuable to an employer than you, specifically because they have no negotiating power.
