Covid goes in most people unnoticed. That is the single best possible state a virus can achieve, since it means free spreading. Most damage it does cause is made by the unnatural spike protein.

In short, I would not be surprised, if the new variants were ignoring the vax BECAUSE they are slowly switching back to natural alternatives. (That would also make covid even less deadly, and closer to the symbiotic/asymptotic ideal state)
