I almost forgot just how bad the stargate universe is, but I am in 6th episode, and already about 6th sex scene and 4th prayer + illusion of talking to priest...

It makes that shit so insufferable...

@LukeAlmighty I'm the biggest Stargate fanboy you'll ever meet, but I could write a book-length diatribe on how awful SGU was. The story got better in S2 (too little too late, IMO), but the writers seemed to hit all of my pet peeves. The overused sex scenes were almost as bad as the characters that only existed to check off diversity *and* trope boxes: whiny rich girl, tough black guy, paraplegic genius...

And to bring it back to the original topic, Rush is a perfect example of a character I hate that pops up everywhere: the guy who knows everything, tells nothing, and expects everyone to bow down to him. He's the "expert" we're supposed to trust blindly.

So far, I completelly agree.
For me, Chloe is such a bitch, I haven't enjoyed a single scene with her in it...

With Rush, I at least get the character, although yeah, he is a pure trope.

@LukeAlmighty Chloe made me wish she was the one who had to stay in the shuttle to close it. None of the others were memorable enough for even that, except Rush. The only one I cared about at all was the geek, and I can't even remember his name now. (Eli, I think? I don't know. My mind has completely replaced him with the character from my books who's based on him.)

So far, the guy I care about the most is the black soldier. The way he's acting, makes you wander if he's a psycho or not.

And that makes him interesting to watch every move. (even though, holywood would never make a black psycho soldier, one can hope...)
