So exactly like ready player one ![]()

The story was so weird, because it did compress the entire internet into a single game with single instance.
That is the part, that was weird. A single game, with bad monetization, for grinders, boomers and entire corporations. A true Nicheian endman world.
@LukeAlmighty Well no, because in Ready Player One the VR world was owned by a good guy that blocked any nefarious monetization or privacy intrusions.
@matrix
I am talking only about the movie.
Yeah, it was obviously mentioned, that the bad guy wanted to make it more monetized, but when I saw the movie, I didn't see anything that wasn't a monetization scheme already. It was all artificial money drains.
I might be just reading too many current game mechanics into a dumb movie... But I would HATE to play the game shown in the movie.
@LukeAlmighty I haven't seen the movie, but yeah, the VR world was essentially ancapistan
@LukeAlmighty
Basically everyone had access to the same tools and played by the same rules and your avatar was anonymous.
The corporation in RPO wanted a monopoly to milk the economy of the world, sterilize it and tie your avatar to your IRL activities. That's Facebook.
@matrix
I just cannot get over the death = instant loss of all cash + ingame nuke combination.
It just seems like a game already designed by EA of tomoow ![]()
@LukeAlmighty It's like ready player one but shit
