I was rised to be anti-racist in every way. I hate the idea on the deepest level, since it's obvious how wasteful it is when applied to already mixed society...

But I think I am SLOOOOOOOWLY starting to get the message.

@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior @AnimeTradCath @hapa_sympathiser @randbot They’ve been trying to undo their own work because it’s built on genuine compassion and results in some level of stability, both of which get in the way of what they seem to be pushing for, down the road. I hate that I’ve absorbed so much of other people’s hate (I haven’t been discriminated against very much at all and the “minorities” I’ve had as neighbors have all been awesome people, so I have no “reason” to feel mad at my immediate world). But, I also hate that I’ve discovered “justification” for a portion of that hate. No one forced me to look at what people were saying on Twitter. No one forced me to watch anti-SJW videos. No one forced me to dig deeper into connections, “notice things,” or to give in and check the Early Life section.

A lot of our attempts to keep the status quo don’t work, because the elements needed are no longer in place (and that’s getting worse). So, it’s very hard to be fully loving, right now. Especially since more and more people are becoming bitter and hostile and making me feel like I just don’t wanna care anymore. But, change is coming and is needed. I think it’s very possible (but not at all easy) to redirect this back into something recoverable…albeit different. Idk.

Not sure if that resonates with you, but your post definitely did with me.

I feel this part completely. There's that meme "if only you knew how bad things really were" but accompanying it is "if only you knew how much better things could be". I think about the latter way too much. I'm so discontent with the whole world it completely bogs me down. After awhile I take a 30-60 day political detox and just watch anime or focus on my drawing.

I just wish I had a secure position where I have work and a place to live. I'm in college and looking for jobs seems like such a hassle, especially when you gotta put on a fake libtard face to fit in. The conundrum is that I can't simultaneously be in this college setting AND study diligently because the environment puts all the woes of the world on my mind. The only time I can stop thinking about politics is when I'm at home for summer/winter breaks, when that's the time I need it the least.

Basically I think we're saying the same thing. I wish I didn't start noticing during this pivotal time in my life. It's totally thrown off my trajectory.

It’s totally thrown off my trajectory Oh, man. I’m so sorry to hear that. I definitely feel the “bogged down” a hell of a lot, as well. It is just too much, but it’s easy to feel “numb” and just “brush it off” until you realize your camel’s back is breaking. 30-60 day political detox Damn, if only I could manage that. I can almost do a week+, but not often. It’s also kind of an addiction. I believe it actually has a similar effect in the brain to hardcore pornography (fetishes), without the pleasure and climax part. It’s shocking shit that every part of you knows you should stay away from, but you continue anyways and eventually see changes and lose a bit of your true self. That’s why /pol/ is one of the worst things on the planet… But it is also super productive and pools together some of the best minds and thinking on the planet, so that makes it harder to forget.

Ok man. It seems that you are in need of a white pill. So here is one.

If you get hired, people KNOW who is or is not a diversity hire. Even if only sub-conceously. That means, that if the company you-re working for gets into red numbers, any manager with IQ above the sea level will know who not to touch when firing people.

That's true. Honestly at this point I don't care how much I make as long as it's >20/hr. I'm guessing it'll be easier to get in + be more myself at a place like that because they're "farther" from power. I've never known anything more than 14/hr anyways so a "raise" like that would go a long f'in way.
