A common line from parents of ADHD kids is: I don't understand why he cannot sit and study. He can focus on games for 24 hours straight.

I never understood this. Do normies normally have problems focusing on interesting topics? Is learning supposed to be as attencion grabbing as games? Or do you guys just not feel a pull to do anything?

@LukeAlmighty
Nah, I think it's that games provide multiple stimuly and you can easily jump between different games and that's why people with ADHD don't get bored.

@matrix
That isn't the part I was asking.
I was asking, what the normie life is like.

@LukeAlmighty I don't think fedi can answer that.
However based on obsessive need of some people to travel while not spending much time in one spot, normies do not have pull towards a certain topic.

@LukeAlmighty a normie here. In my personal experience it's that third one mostly. But also, oh how to explain this, whatever the topic is, interesting or not, that same internal switch gets activated. The one that says, okay, it's time to actively and deliberately channel your focus and brain power into this thing. doesn't matter if you love The thing, hate the thing, somewhere in between. It's the same mental action across the board whatever it is.
