ranting about age of consent without any particular point

@beardalaxy @Zyra
I think the true problem with debate about age of conscent is, that everyone sees a different problem as the core of the issue.

1) pairbonding.
Pairbonding age starts at 14. I am sorry, but that is what Puberty is for. If your goal would be to create most stable families, you would have to push for pre-arranged marriges of kids. Sadly, that seems to be the anti-thesis of modern society. So, instead, 15YO teens (who CANNOT be stopped from having sex) will go from one relationship to another will their pairbonding ability is fried.

2) inteligence
I never understood this argument. I do not believe teens are that stupid, but I don't understand a lot of dumb behaviors. The question then becomes, what to do about it? Does that mean some people should be never allowed to have sex? Should there be an test?

Number of abortions in the world does seem to imply, that MOST people are too dumb to have sex ever, but does that mean we should stop everyone? (I would realy appreciate someone who gets this argument to go to detail)

3) Conscent.
This is a purely legal argument. If we defined, that people younger then 18 are too dumb to make this decision, then I guess by definition, they cannot make it, but it is a dubious argument at best.

4) power dynamics
On the other hand, this argument, I do understand completely, but I hate how one-sided it is.

Relationships and laws around it make it so at every stage of the relationship, someone has morre power over some aspects. But how are we supposed to deal with that? Should rich people be forbidden just because they're rich? Why do we ignore the power dynamic of baby trapping and divorce rape?

Because as far as I know, these power dynamics are exactly the same even when you're 40.

Sorry for ranting without any exact point. I guess that all I wanted to say was, that the way I see it, modern laws of conscent make the "correct" decision illegal to begin with, so we are left just with shitty and shittier options.
