I cannot believe, that "modern games" still use pre-rendered cutscenes thinking I won't notice.

And I mean, in the same scene, with the same models etc.

I get pre-rendered, when it comes to a different environment. For example, space battles in Mass effect. But just STOP IT, when the scene is one, where all the models are already loaded in.

@LukeAlmighty I think pre-rendered is easier to do because in-engine cut-scenes require implementing a scripting language and creating the necessary states when a cutscene happens, whereas a pre-rendered cutscene is just a video file.

Also, I am starting to see the issue with dithering.

Devs are trying to use it EVERYWHERE!!!

The game I play now, would rather have dithering and popins 5m from my eyes, then use slightly less detailed environment, that can at least be rendered in it's entire beauty.

Of course it looks good on screenshots and compressed video though.
