Honest question.
Do phones over 6k czk even have any added value these days?

@LukeAlmighty all phones are exactly the same, the expensiver ones just offer more space and speed but that's it

@keisuke
Yes.
But the question is, what can the power be used to? 6k phone can cover internet perfectly, can save a map on HDD, and can emulate games NES-N64/NDS.

So, are there any actual applications for the additional power?

@LukeAlmighty As far as I can tell new expensive phones are almost exclusively a status symbol since mid-tier ones can already do more than most people would need. The one thing they may be useful for is running ever more demanding things like videogames, but what sane person plays demanding games on a touchscreen.

I still have my 2014 phone which still covers everything I want. Battery is dying out, the internal storage isnt great (but SD cards are quite cheap compared to a new phone), and screen protector is cracked, but all fixable.

The only thing I would buy a new phone for is if they went back to the civilized practice of buttons and keypads, but the only options available right now are really expensive (and the Loonix phone crowd just keeps chasing the mainstream so nothing worth seeing there).

Sad state of affairs :hit_w_feels:
@LukeAlmighty Thinking about it the only fancy new thing that may catch one's attention are those tablet-laptop hybrids which make sense as an evolution of the laptop form factor.

@kerosene
I am writing a list of common sense shit I ask in Electro to piss the employees off.
A linux phone and a phone with a cam cover are my favorite.

@LukeAlmighty >phone with a cam
I have honestly been thinking recently of buying an actual camera for taking pictures during trips and such. Maybe not necessary but taking pictures with a smartphone regardless of picture quality feels clunky.
Where did the crazy mfs at Nokia go, I need those stupid phones with a giga-camera attached to the back :alexjonescrying:
