I put my mom on Linux 2-3 days ago. It actually works great because Winblows 10 was eating more RAM than you can imagine and all she wanted to do was zoom call and excel and chrome.

The only reason more people aren't talking about Linux at this point is normies don't know about it, and nerds online just don't give a shit and declare defeat because they couldn't get their 80 year old mom on it.

@pawlicker A lot of normies are aware of it, they just think it's some weird hacker OS.

I remember hearing about it as a kid. I think it was mentioned in a PC game. It was one of those where both the Windows and Mac binaries were on the same disc, but it had a Linux binary as well. Despite that, it was always that mythical OS that nobody I knew uses. I didn't see it in action until my older brother tried a Ubuntu Live USB around 2010.

It worked for my mom and she literally cannot use a PC very well.
