That wasnt the angle I was thinking about

I remember talking with a teacher (this was toward the end of school and they stopped giving a shit about the whole 'no personal politics' thing).
He mentioned an interesting study he read that was released at the time, basically saying that the data suggested that a school that had a uniform had less bullying on average, which was ascribed to the less overt showing of personality/interests and that in making them more similar in that small way, it reduced the initial confrontations and created a bit more of a sense of unity in the students.

I wonder if similar would apply to school lunches, rather than packed lunches. Just a little thought i found interesting.

Well, I would guess, that uniforms do serve to create a sense of comradory between students, but I seriously doubt lunches would have the same effect.
