From what I read, it seems, that there was no singular bullshit point in a new economy update. People just snapped.
Because the economy in that game is just ridiculous. Repair costs in WT are something I have never seen before.
So, at least you can see, that the frog DOES in fact jump out eventually.

Ok, I made more "reseatch", and the event that broke the community was destruction of vehicle folders.
vrchat was negative for like two weeks and its scrubbed back to positive now
