@LukeAlmightyDo you want a "shorter" self contained series, or the longer series that most fans like to talk about? I haven't watched everything, but I've seen a good deal.
@LukeAlmighty>a famous story does sound nice It's old and dated, but the common starting point for the biggest Gundam universe (Universal Century, or UC for short) is the show simply called Mobile Suit Gundam. If watching 50 episodes is too much then there are some movies that can make the experience shorter.
@LukeAlmighty@Jens_RasmussenOriginal, then the rest of the UC shows in order if you like it. The non-UC shows aren’t very good imo if you start watching them as an adult. Like I loved Gundam Wing when I was 13 but it seems retarded now.
@Rudolf_von_Goldenbaum@LukeAlmightyNon-UC shows are a mixed bag, but it's not as if UC doesn't have some retarded things how and then. The first parts of ZZ, most of CCA (though that's limited by being a movie and not a show) and Unicorn.
@Rudolf_von_Goldenbaum@LukeAlmightyWing is weird. X and ∀ had me bored to tears. Seed is a mixed bag, but the designs are good at least. 00 was oddly entertaining to me. I don't have a relationship with the newer series.
@LukeAlmighty@Jens_Rasmussenmobile suit gundam is the normal start point. kind of long but good, then go in release order
if you're not sure if you want to watch gundam at all you can watch 08th MS team as a short intro, no context needed other than earth nigs and space nigs are fighting it out with giant robot during an invasion of earth
