@LukeAlmighty Yeah to break this cycle you have to force yourself to not take a nap, so that you'll be tired and go to bed earlier.
This is something I usually am too lazy to do, but it works when I do it
@realcaseyrollins @LukeAlmighty in my case, not going to bed when I'm tired puts me at seizure risk and I also can sometimes get to the point where I'm so tired I can't even exist anymore, I'm like a husk doing nothing. If I make it through that stage though I usually feel awake again.
@LukeAlmighty @realcaseyrollins my caffeine consumption is probably lower than 95% of fedi lol my brain is just fucked
my version of an "energy drink" is just a mtn dew kickstart which has less caffeine than 2 normal cans xD
@beardalaxy @realcaseyrollins
I know...
I just use it as a personal joke, because I was told it by 3 different doctors, immediately after I mentioned that I have sleep problems.
@LukeAlmighty @realcaseyrollins that sounds about right lol. cutting it out can help, but it's just one variable. if i went to a sleep doctor it would be really funny to tell them all the shit i have tried to help me sleep and i still can't get any xD
my mom accidentally had 2 weighted blankets ship to her in the mail so she gave me one of them. it's nice, but i feel literally no difference xD lights off, every single possible light source in my room unplugged or taped over, i've tried utter silence and white noise.
about the only thing i've noticed that consistently helps me sleep is fucking jimi hendrix lol.
@beardalaxy @realcaseyrollins
Exactly.
I have tried everything, and any human can understand that... except for doctors
There is one thing that I found to work. And that is to use the light in the reversed. As soon as morning starts, turn on tha main light in my room, and let is on the entire day. And in the evening, shut it down.
But it's unintuituve, and easy to get wrong :D
@LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy Have you tried melatonin? I've heard from friends that it can work really well
@honkwerx @LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy Nice! I've heard that it works but also that it's addictive or something, figured OP might want to try it if he hadn't yet
@beardalaxy @honkwerx @realcaseyrollins
I'm sorry, but that's the same thing as far as I'm conserned.
@beardalaxy @honkwerx @realcaseyrollins
Ok, but that means, that dependency need just as much of a warning as addiction.
@LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy @honkwerx Yeah I presumed that's what it was, she said "it works too well"
@LukeAlmighty @honkwerx @realcaseyrollins there's still a difference between addiction and dependency.
