Hello free software maniacs :D

What video editor should I give a try?

@kf01 @LukeAlmighty I was gonna say, all the actual free ones are kind of shit.

I use Corel because it has a very niche feature I need that no other video editor does, that one costs money but is on the cheaper side and still pretty shit.

@beardalaxy @LukeAlmighty free video editors are either complete garbage or have more viral load than a homo in the 80s

This is just one thing you'll have to pay or yaargh no way around it.

@LukeAlmighty @kf01 can you edit videos in blender? I had no idea lol. I know they added like a little game engine to it or something at some point too haha.

@beardalaxy @kf01
The philosophy behind blender is "A movie studio in a single program"

But while it is a perfect 3D program, the video editor is unintuitive at best, and causes more damage then good if you don't know what you're doing.

Do you remember that time you fucked the entire word document by moving a photo by 2mm? Yeah, Blender video editor feels like that.

@LukeAlmighty @kf01 that's a pretty good comparison lol.

I'll probably have to learn how to use blender at some point if I want to make 3d games without completely destroying my bank account.

@LukeAlmighty Kdenlive if you don't need a lot of effects and don't mind the sometimes frequent crashes. If you need something more professional, than DaVinci Resolve free version.
@mischievoustomato @LukeAlmighty Yeah, I had to switch from distro package to Flatpak and backwards multiple times, but it does what I need (cut a few clips from a video, maybe add some blur).
@phnt @LukeAlmighty i use the nixpkgs package and boy it fuckijg sucks. i moved to pitivi and wish to move to davinci resolve soon

@LukeAlmighty Olive Editor, maybe. Idk much about the newer version, though.

@LukeAlmighty i use pitivi, and will switch to davinci resolve once possivle
