I cannot believe my own eyes.
Bethesda seriosuly doesn't understand the ghoul lore. And what's worse is, that Simpsons described ghouls perfectly, INCLUDING BETHESDA'S RESPONSE!!!

Isn't this a really old one, back when it wasn't trash?

@xianc78
Don't worry. I'm not dumb enough to hate-watch....

Instead, I watch the reviews. They are 3 times longer, and more entertaining.

@LukeAlmighty I'm pretty sure it was made clear that the TV show was a separate canon.

@xianc78
No, Todd went out of his way to say, that the show is main canon.

@LukeAlmighty With the exception of New Vegas, I don't consider any Fallout media since the second game cannon.
Trying to make sense of the disaster the post-Black Isle lore is otherwise is just exhausting. :pooh:
@xianc78 @LukeAlmighty It's kinda in a weird spot. Neither Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, nor Chris Avellone were all not involved; it was commissioned by Interplay and mostly developed by a third party studio with little input from the Fallout 2 team; and it's existence is kinda extraneous.
I will confess, I have never finished it, although I did start it many years ago, and while I remember thinking it wasn't a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, it's not really "Fallout," in the way I think of it. I would need to play it again and finish it to give an informed answer.
I'm not aware of any glaring lore inconsistencies in Tactics (not like BHoS or 76, anyway), so if you want to count it as "one of the good ones," go nuts.

@Indigo @LukeAlmighty You could also try Wasteland 2 and Wasteland 3, which seem to be the spiritual successors to Fallout. (Ironic given that Fallout was meant to be a spiritual successor to the first Wasteland)

@xianc78 @LukeAlmighty I absolutely need to play Wasteland 2 and 3, they've been on "the pile" for a long time.
Maybe this summer... we'll have to see.

@Indigo @LukeAlmighty I never played it either. In fact I never played the first two games, but from fans of the classic Fallout games, they seem to agree that it is more of a worthy Fallout 3 than the actual Fallout 3, despite it being a spin-off.

I'll confess that I really liked Fallout 3 when I first played it only because I never played anything as open-world as that game prior. The closest to that for me were the Zelda games. I even went as far as claiming it as one of my favorite games of all time. Though I haven't replayed it since, so I can't say if it still holds up.

I also liked Fallout New Vegas, but I feel like that game is just an over-glorified political compass test which isn't always a bad thing, but I've seen online discussions saying things like "if you choose anything, but the Legion, you are just a soy-chugging Redditor". Discussions about that game just lead to political flame wars, at least from my experience.

I absolutely refuse to play Fallout 4 or Fallout 76, and any future game after that.

@xianc78 @LukeAlmighty I can respect that, I played Fallout 3 first too, and I was in the same boat as you, I'd never played a game like that before and it blew my mind at the time.
New Vegas, in my opinion, was a whole other level to me though. I won't bore you with another New Vegas gush-fest because I'm sure you've heard it, but I liked it. A LOT.
But dude, play Fallout 1 and 2. They are old and janky games, and they are going to take some getting used to. I always recommend using Per Jorner's "Nearly Ultimate Fallout Guide" (it's on the wiki) you're first time through the first game, because there's a few things about the game that I think some players need to have given to them, but trust me, it's worth it. Once you're in that world, those first two games are like nothing else out there.
Take it from someone who played Fallout 1 *after* 3 and New Vegas, and now considers the former to be both his favorite in the series, and one of his favorite games overall.
