If they were younger, I would say Attack on titan. While a bit brutal, it is just rough enough, to catch people in the same way, that Game of thrones does.
Some of the newer UC Gundam works could also have all-age appeal, namely the prequel to the original series or the Zeta rework.
LotGH is a classic, but certainly not for everyone.
