My theory is GamerGate came very, very close to uncovering the USAIDs epidemic over a decade before musk and friends did -- which is precisely why they flipped their absolute shit over it.

Hell, this was only a few years after Occupy Wall Street, which they were still probably out of breath from dealing with.
