Ok. Yeah, while it's not something I think about much, I can agree it's not an idea I enjoy.

I guess I understand why it happens. Plenty of countries would naturally have animosity towards one another, and this would serve as a means of protecting themselves. Probably not a very effective one...

@alyx it's a good way to make me unlikely to want to get a citizenship there.

I don't want to give up voting privileges in the USA, lol.

But seriously out of all the countries I've looked at I haven't found many that don't require it.

@mewmew @alyx I know plenty of dual 🇺🇸 / 🇳🇿 and 🇬🇧 / 🇳🇿 . There are some German duals but they keep changing the laws, so you only see them in certain windows. 🇮🇳 does not allow dual citizenships .. don't think 🇳🇱 does right now either. I met one guy with US+UK+NZ.

@mewmew @alyx Japan doesn't right? I heard it was difficult to get citizenship there too, but then I went online and there were videos of Americans and Canadians who've done it, so 🤷‍♂️

Difficult does not mean impossible. So if you're dedicated enough, you'll probably get it eventually.

@alyx @slimeblob you need to sign a contract to have five kids, their population is far too old on average so they need help getting it down.

Damn... how much time do they give you to have 5 kids? Cause men could technically impregnate women even when they're hella old.
Also, curious what would happen if you don't respect the contract.
