It's because autogynephiles were aggressively getting up in women's business well before the yaoi addicts were pestering gay men for sex.

Also since many people still subconsciously think about them as women/men even if we're polite about it. Making a cruel comment to a creepy man being inappropriate is a lot more socially acceptable than the same type of comments delivered to a woman being inappropriate.

@alyx I'd humbly claim that nobody even gives this any thought because they literally do not care and only want to deliver some punch. That line became a meme anyways and it's just still hitting hard so: Never change a running system.

@alyx Because transmen are irrelevant, and generally aren't as obnoxious or predatory. In addition, because they are women and not men, people will generally find them more sympathetic and will humor their delusions out of politeness.

If people actually saw transmen as men they'd be treated just like transwomen are.

@alyx because there are far fewer of them and a lot of the ones that exist seem more genuine although misguided, whereas the men "transitioning" to women are typically brutally fucked in the head
