I can imagine how various video game movies could play out, just not Mario.

@alyx Honestly the safest bet is to just take the main trope of the game and make it a tad more complex.
Or maybe they go full sonic and take the characters and make a different genre of movie out of it.

I personally liked the Sonic/Roadtrip combo they did, was entertaining and fresh in a way while maintaining the core of the character (for me at least)
