Say you're a linux user and make a simple txt file to note down something quick. Do you give the file a .txt extension, or leave it with no extension?

@alyx To a lot of my text files I give .txt extensions, because sometimes I have to use them with other operating systems. But I use this naming style even for files I never use on other systems without thinking too much about it. And sometimes I don't use extensions… without thinking too much about it.

@alyx I'm a GNU user and I'm not sure how well you could note something down with just Linux.
I use ,txt as why not really?
@alyx That pistol is empty - she had her finger depressing the trigger the whole time, so it would have fired as soon as she loaded a round in it.
I have GNU/Rifle ready to go and it's faster than any proprietary pistol regardless.
