They seem like such a promising technology, that I'm sure we'll never see IRL. I'm also starting to think that, after scientists manage to perfect fusion, it will also be scaremongered and banned.

Last news I've heard was that a group managed to get a sustainable reaction, but weren't sure what they did different that worked, and now are trying to reproduce it.

Don't know what Pais is, but I'll look into it.

@alyx from what i remember pais has like.. some kind of magnetic materials attached to a spinning case and then the case is a clockwise spin somewhere. there's some weird papers that certain counterspin situations cause an anomalous reduction in mass and i think he was using this to help make the containment field.

the rotary field effect has been replicated but it's easy to botch
