It's only gonna be a placebo effect, or a psychological effect, due to the fact of knowing there won't be any disturbances during sleep. No notifications, no mails, to phone calls, nothing. If your daily life has a lot of those, and you're stressed because of it, knowing night time is guaranteed to give you peace and quiet can provide extra comfort and help you sleep.

I try to power it off at night just to preserve battery. I don't charge overnight, and no matter how I leave it, it still uses up more battery by staying on all night than a power-off/power-on cycle.

I've considered that, but how much static could you even generate while sleeping, and what possible harm could it bring you that you feel the need to ground yourself?
