Menarche thing is based on shit like medical reports, which people didn't do without a reason, and there was obvious stigma to report. Young girls are fit, which is why people had them as wives and mothers

Not to mention that by that point she should have direct experience through helping her mother with cooking, chores, and raising her younger siblings.
