@matana @BJay out of all these i think gumball has the most unique style, everything else just feels way too similar. maybe gravity falls comes in second.

but lol @ the 3d example hahaha

to be fair most anime has a mostly consistent style I am fine with both art styles if you ignore the west not producing as many bangers instead shit posting low quality mediocre cash grabs

@fugger @BJay @matana jesus fuck xD

when you see anime you can pretty much always definitively say "that's anime" but it has far from just the same art style reused over and over imo. it's fairly easy to tell what studio produced an anime or exactly what anime it's from. if you asked me who made all of the shows mentioned above i'd honestly just think, other than gumball/gravity falls, they were all from the same creator but they're all actually different afaik.

this image of anya in different styles, case in point. though the recycled, low budget anime definitely lack originality and end up looking pretty similar. it's only the ones that take a lot of inspiration from the manga that end up looking distinct to the point where even if i'm not super familiar with the anime, if i even see a character from it i'll immediately know which one it is.

and miyazaki art is on another level of serenity and warmth, it looks like how good childhood memories feel.
