Though if you have a VPN that doesn’t have your personal information.. then it doesn’t matter.

Or you know; just download torrents of legal-to-distribute media from a Starbucks if you are worried, or use a proxy that might log your connection, but at least it’s slightly more inaccessible.

Failure does raise a valid point though. IPs being revealed during P2P file transfer is a known thing. Most torrent client sites and torrent tracker sites will warn you and advise the use of a VPN to prevent your IP being seen by others downloading/uploading the file.
