@BullSchmitt @TurboNormie i remember right-wing people getting upset that cyberpunk 2077 had trans people in it or something like that, and i tried to explain that the whole point of trans people being in the genre was to show the breakdown of society and humanity, but nobody wanted to hear it.

@beardalaxy @BullSchmitt @TurboNormie Except this is the same issue as with "Cuties" being a film "against child exploitation".

If you show a bad thing in an appealing fashion, or hyperfocus on it aesthetically, you're encouraging it, not critiquing it.

If I were to make a white nationalist game and wanted to show the bestial nature of blacks and I put in a fully rendered rape scene where the victim is a white woman, I would be giving tacit approval for the matter at hand.

Just like Tariq Nasheed was piled on because his buck breaking shit was just so over the top it seemed like he fetishized it. Which he probably does.

@Giga_Vril_Breaker @BullSchmitt @TurboNormie lol no this isn't the same as cuties whatsoever, thinking it is is absolutely tone deaf. child exploitation bad, so we'll exploit actual children to show it VS technology has gone too far and these are the repercussions if it continues (fiction btw). they are completely different things.

your example of a rape scene is particularly weird, if you're supposed to feel like the black people are terrible, then having them rape a white woman is the perfect way to do that. since it isn't real, you're not endorsing it, you're bringing it to the forefront. it doesn't even have to necessarily be a direct message to the player, it can just be something to think about juxtaposed with everything else (which is how cyberpunk does it, generally speaking).

but this is the exact shit i had to keep telling everyone else, there seems to just be a fundamental misunderstanding here.

@beardalaxy @BullSchmitt @TurboNormie The scale is different but it's the same thing. Cyberpunk (as all -punks do) ups its cool factor, making it palatable to its enjoyers. When people hear cyberpunk they don't think of soulless corpos, capitalism slavery, rampant sexual degeneracy first. They think cool robot arms, sexy robot ladies, flying cars, chinese food stands, neon hanzi. Cyberpunk product does its best not to make its world repugnant - but to entice, to invite. Sure, there may be corpos, but you can be a cool punk shemale hero with bionic arms.

If any wignat does the clockwork orange treatment of the subject matter "black on white rape", they're absolutely dead to me. You don't get it. You don't depict evil, ugliness, rot, in a visceral manner, lest you invite the demons that dwell within.
