Are those "learn Japanese or die" games actually good at teaching Japanese?
@beardalaxy i guess the people who played them are too dead to tell you
@beardalaxy
Are you sure that is the part of the game you care about?
@beardalaxy
And no.
I have tried hiragana battle, but random pictures didn't help me form the basic block to build upon.
@LukeAlmighty I have no idea what you're talking about lol they aren't erotic or anything, they're just rpg maker games where you battle Japanese symbols with romanji or something like that
@beardalaxy
Hiragana means random pictures.
@beardalaxy @LukeAlmighty Hiragana/katakana are better learned through flashcards and reading Japanese phonetically. It’d probably take you only a week to get the majority of them down, and as long as you’re reading Japanese in any sort of regularity, you’ll won’t forget hiragana.
@beardalaxy Playing them teaches you more than not playing them but not as much as actual studying. If studying is harder at keeping your attention a game will prolly help
