@matana @beardalaxy It’s probably cross pollination with “gourment,” but that’s English usage. I’m not familiar with how グルマン is used in Japanese; it might still retain the glutton connotation.

@Coyote @matana What I can ascertain, just from searching those symbols, a bunch of gourmet or faux-gourmet food/restaurants comes up. It seems like that's the name of a restaurant chain in Japan. It could still have a "glutton" connotation to it, but used endearingly instead of as a deadly sin.
I am reminded that "gourmet" can mean very exquisite food, or it can mean just a LOT of food, depending on if it is used as an adjective or a noun, respectively.
Regardless, the point still stands that the translation was never "guRUman" to begin with. It was "guROman," which is different. Very slightly different, especially because the RU and RO symbols look so similar, but different nonetheless.
