@ChristiJunior i will come back to vote for samus. i know people will vote against her because fedi (and the internet in general) is full of contrarians.

she's popular for a reason, you know. i'll bet 90% of you niggers didn't even know tamamo existed before this poll.

@beardalaxy To be fair, you'd be shocked by how many Tamamo emojis there were on Fedi, even before this contest. Your instance probably has some you didn't even know about, I know DRC does :sip2:

@ChristiJunior if gameliberty has any tamamo emotes, i can't find them lol.

i'm guessing she only gets as many votes as she does because she's a meme character. highly doubt most people who knew about her knew her full name, that she even came from a video game at all, or have played the games she's in before this contest went live.

which isn't a bad thing, to be fair, you can like a character even if you don't know who they are really. but claiming that she's the BEST video game girl of all time when she's up against samus aran of all characters is retarded and 100% fueled by contrarianism. you can't win with this strategy either, because if she wins well guess what, she's now the most popular one so i guess you gotta' move on to someone else.

@beardalaxy Against Reimu the big talking point was that Samus is a Coomer character, which just blew me away, and made me wonder if the people putting it out had even heard about the likes of Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Metroid Dread etc.

Sure, we LOVE our Samus lewds, but not just because her body is stunning, it's because she's such a gaming legend. Samus lewds basically become the hentai equivalent of celebrity nudes/sex tapes, with all of their naughty, titillating appeal (further enhanced by Samus being an infinitely superior girl to worthless actresses or hack singers). At the same time, since we're so familiar with her games, Samus lewds have something of the appeal of seeing the cute Girl Next Door naked.

Basically, Samus being such an amazing gaming girl is what elevate her nudes, her nudes aren't elevating her.
@ChristiJunior @beardalaxy Samus is really awesome. She's the silent, cool type who just gets the job done. I wish western creators realized that it is possible to create woman characters like this without making her a mary sue with an obnoxious personality who disparages men all the time. It is isn't hard but yet they make it seem like it's impossible.
@sweetcreme @beardalaxy Metroid Dread was a good example of how to handle a legitimately Badass Female Action Hero, making both Samus and the (male) villain Raven Beak look really good. Samus gets tons of badass moments, but Raven Beak is still shown to be the stronger fighter, which doesn't make Samus look weak, it instead really sells just how strong Raven Beak is.

Tearing down your villains (ESPECIALLY in the name of feminism) don't actually elevate your heroes

@ChristiJunior @sweetcreme @beardalaxy
Metroid dread is a genius game in one regard.

When you look at all the boss cutscenes, they serve 2 purposes.
1) To show Samus as the most badass person on the planet
2) To show you as the player the weakspots of the enemy.

And the game does this flawlessly.

@ChristiJunior @sweetcreme @beardalaxy Writing 101, except it's necessary because the writer is a dysgenic mutant somehow entrusted with writing the plot of a video game we want people to actually buy.

:soyjak_pussyhat: "But what is Samus did something le epic like..."

Raven Beak: "I am your father".

Samus: "Well..." *looks smugly at the camera* "...I always wanted to smash the patriarchy". :smug4:

Samus jumps at Raven Beak and a quick time event appears. If you press "A" during the time frame, she wins instantly. There's no final boss fight because that's an outdated and male-centric game mechanic.

When ChatGPT can write better game plot ideas than most current video game "writers" ....

Title: Metroid: Echoes of Darkness

Introduction:
"Metroid: Echoes of Darkness" is the latest installment in the iconic Metroid series, developed by Nintendo. This action-adventure game brings players back into the boots of the legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran. Set in a post-Fusion Metroid universe, it explores the consequences of Samus's previous battles with the X Parasite and the Metroids, as well as the rise of a new threat.

Development:
The story begins with Samus Aran receiving a distress signal from a remote research facility on the planet Oortis. Upon arrival, she discovers the facility in ruins, with signs of a brutal struggle. As she investigates further, Samus uncovers a secretive organization known as the "Eclipse Syndicate" and their twisted experiments with Metroid DNA. The Syndicate, led by the enigmatic Dr. Alaric, aims to create a new breed of Metroids capable of controlling other lifeforms.

Samus must navigate through Oortis's treacherous terrain, solving puzzles, acquiring new upgrades, and battling dangerous enemies. Along the way, she encounters a new character named Alyx, a former Syndicate scientist who has turned against the organization and seeks redemption. Together, they uncover the Syndicate's nefarious plans, including their ultimate creation, the "Omega Metroid," a monstrous, sentient Metroid capable of wielding dark energy.

As Samus and Alyx delve deeper into the mysteries of the Eclipse Syndicate, they also confront Samus's own inner demons, including the trauma caused by her Fusion Suit and the loss of her Metroid adopted sibling, the baby Metroid. This emotional journey adds depth to Samus's character as she struggles with the consequences of her past actions.

Ending:
The climax of "Metroid: Echoes of Darkness" takes place within the heart of the Eclipse Syndicate's underground base. Samus and Alyx must face off against Dr. Alaric and the Omega Metroid in a thrilling and intense battle. With their combined strength and determination, they manage to defeat the Omega Metroid, but not without sacrifices.

In the aftermath, Samus confronts Dr. Alaric, who reveals his tragic backstory and the motivations behind his experiments. The game provides players with choices that shape the outcome of Alaric's fate, reflecting the Metroid series' emphasis on moral decisions.

As the facility crumbles, Samus and Alyx escape and watch it implode, putting an end to the Eclipse Syndicate's reign of terror. Samus reflects on her journey, the choices she made, and the people she met along the way, including Alyx, who has found a new purpose in helping others.

"Metroid: Echoes of Darkness" concludes with Samus Aran departing Oortis, leaving behind a planet forever changed by her actions. The game pays homage to the Metroid series' legacy while pushing the narrative forward, exploring themes of redemption, moral choices, and the enduring strength of the iconic bounty hunter, Samus Aran.
@TheMadPirate @ChristiJunior @beardalaxy @sweetcreme LOL. The Hollywood writer strike won't matter any more the moment the kikes over there realise they can just have AI write the plots for their new movies.
@Rasterman @ChristiJunior @beardalaxy @sweetcreme And the it would probably write better plots than the woke garbage they are pushing. At least the AI step on the shoulders of giants like Shakespeare and Cervantes.
@TheMadPirate @ChristiJunior @beardalaxy @sweetcreme In practise, however, I suspect they'll use the AI to write the plot and then insert woke themes into it.
@DrRyanSkelton @ChristiJunior @Rasterman @sweetcreme @beardalaxy I also find it funny that they are seeking to take down those datasets with the works of Shakespeare and Cervantes for .... "copyright" reasons.

@ChristiJunior people saying that samus is a coomer character just means that is the only way they see her and that's pretty sad lol, projection at its finest.

i was getting riled up over that exact same thing with krystal a few days ago xD

@beardalaxy I mean, that's fair enough if you haven't played a single Metroid game, but if you're that ignorant about the character, you should probably just focus on supporting your own girl, not revealing just how little you know about the other one.

@ChristiJunior @beardalaxy
That is why I hated all the Touhou characters.

Researching them, so I can vote on the personality was such a pain -_-

@ChristiJunior @beardalaxy That is an argument that is applicable to all the girls selected for the voting really.

On an objective stance, which one wasn't hot?

The people who rooted hard for their girls were the ones who saw them beyond coomer material.
