@ChristiJunior@bae.st @ChristiJunior@detroitriotcity.com that's golden lol, i think dread has the least labyrinthian level design of any metroid game while still feeling like a labyrinth. it's so natural where to go at all points but you barely even recognize the game's guidance.
@ChristiJunior @beardalaxy Teleporters/Portals can reduce backtracking believably in a Metroidvania but I liked how in both Fusion and Order of Ecclesia it’s themed sectors branching out from a travel hub. Especially in Fusion where it makes complete sense with the varying climates in the laboratories. Oh, and it’s not a fast travel MENU option you have to actually traverse it, so when you notice something is off about the hub’s surroundings you know some fuckery is imminent.
