decided to take the political compass test again just for fun.

it's over rightie bros.

i suspect it's due to my disdain for (((the rich))) and (((authority))) that's been growing steadily since the last time i took this, which was before i joined fedi.

maybe i keep this in my back pocket to whip out whenever someone calls me right wing :meru_lul:

@LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy politicalcompass.org sucks massively though. Half the questions don't even make sense or are questions like "It's a good thing when corporations fuck you in the ass", and then none of the results make sense

Sapply compass is the sanest one I've seen, probably because it doesn't conflate economics and progressive/traditional

@LukeAlmighty @applejack @beardalaxy Woah, I've moved way further left since the last time I took this thing... :mariawoah:
@LukeAlmighty @applejack @beardalaxy :02_shrug:
I guess I did answer very consistently in favor of individual freedom EG: Strongly disagree toward Homosexuality being immoral; Strongly agree that Individuals have absolute rights to bodily autonomy no matter what; Strongly disagree that religion is necessary for morality; All the "fuck cops" answers in the positive; etc.
This is a trend I've been noticing of me going left on a lot of things ever since I determined I was actually straight. Weird how that's worked, guess I'm just a contrarian by my nature.

@Indigo @applejack @beardalaxy
> Bodily autonomy
I agree with that thing.... But I don't agree with what progressives mean by that :D

@LukeAlmighty @applejack @beardalaxy I don't know, I'm pro-choice and pro-Trans rights and stuff, it's the "pushing stuff on children,' part that bothers me.
Adults, or even older teenagers, choosing to transition doesn't really pose an issue in my mind.
And I've always been constantly pro-choice, even when I was a "Paleo-Conservative," that was my "exception issue," even then.

@Indigo @applejack @LukeAlmighty yeah stuff like that is why i'm not further on the progressive scale probably. i'm legally pro-choice but not morally. i think adults should be able to do whatever they want to themselves and with each other, but only as long as it isn't in public and doesn't introduce some legitimate safety concerns (for instance, smoking indoors or drinking and driving). i also think that treating things that aren't normal as if they were is really psychologically damaging, for instance being trans is way more trendy than it ought to be and i think it really fucks people over. i view that sort of thing from a very humanist angle, rather than one of raw freedom. i'll acknowledge people's right to do what they want, but that doesn't mean i have to support it in any way. people don't always know exactly what is actually best for them, and that goes 100x more for children.

@beardalaxy @applejack @LukeAlmighty Yeah, that's most of what my belief structure boils down to as well.
"Freedom of choice, but not freedom from consequences."
Also, I'm pretty certain that if I were born maybe... five or six years later I would have been mis-diagnosed as Trans the way things are going nowadays. That reality being in relative close proximity to this one in the multi-verse keeps my perspective on that issue in check. Doesn't mean I don't acknowledge Trans people exist, I do; but Trans-trenders do exist, and the de-transition movement exists for a reason.

@Indigo @applejack @LukeAlmighty haha that's funny, i was talking to luke yesterday about that exact same thing. there's a good chance i'd have a gender identity crisis if i was an actual zoomer instead of just a borderline one.

i think there are a lot of societal/cultural issues that people like to cover up with pretty dressings or diversions instead of looking at the actual truths because they can get uncomfortable to address.

@Indigo @LukeAlmighty @applejack @beardalaxy i have to be extremely careful about people coming out as trans to me cus sometimes theyre lying to themselves and i wont support that
