@ChristiJunior
This Batman's death happened in a multiverse fanfic. The death was boring and retarded in many ways. But.... Joel was way worse. It was more brutal, his death was not even payed for by a good old revenge. Instead, we got a story, where his daughter murdered hundreds of people for literally nothing.

Absolute waste.

@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior yeah it's definitely Joel. You can tell rocksteady kills batman for fun or to be edgy or something, meanwhile Neil cuckmann actually hates Joel and is ideologically opposed to him. Batman's death is stupid and like kindergarten level shit, but Joel's is actively malicious.

Doesn't make any sense either, dude saves you from being eaten by zombies and gets you back to your group safely, and then you find out his name is Joel so THIS MUST BE THE GUY and you kill him.

It seems to be a trend in games lately that the characters are written in a way where you have to suspend all disbelief otherwise they feel like they were intentionally written to be dumb/evil. That kind of thing is all over the place in Tears of the Kingdom too. They hope that the larger narrative will be more impactful than how the characters affect it, without realizing that the reason the narratives were so impactful in the first place was because of the characters.
