@beardalaxy I've bullied lots of pedos on Fedi, and plenty of people joined me in dogpiling those scumbags - but I NEVER saw any of Fedi's anti-Loli activists help out. Curious.

@beardalaxy i think some of it comes down to they can't deal with real problems because the real problems are too embedded in the system. it's like having a list of 900 tasks and you skip four hundred of them because you don't wanna. thus you end up working on relatively unimportant tasks because, well, destroying Microsoft is hard and terrorizing the food truck for eating bacon is easy. or you can't destroy microsoft because you're an agent of them and so are obligated to bypass any attempts to do so. i think this is likely.

either that or its one of those compersion things i have no idea. i've heard conjecture that if people seem really angry, or really suspicious about something, to come slide a film or some media in. if everyone feels like stabbing the government you drop a couple films where the action hero does that and people simulate the experience of winning and thus become calmer. this kind of happens with sportsball, where people relate themselves to the teams or something. they did no competing, working out, mastery, nothing at all, but they feel like they watched sportsball and thus they did something. i think this is unlikely--it would require a lot of coordination, and movies take a long time to finish, so i think predictive programming/ablation would only be practical in media like the news or episodics that have a low enough turnaround to actually push narratives with. i think they only do this with the news.
