@mangeurdenuage Yeah they bumped up the price of the Xbox Series S consoles $80 and the Series X $100, and the 2TB Series X had a $130 price hike.

Normally consoles go down in price as they age not get more expensive.

@ooignignoktoo @mangeurdenuage i wonder if part of it isn't just inflation, but also how stuff is manufactured?
like, either better chips aren't being manufactured which is making sure the current ones stay the same price
OR
only better chips are being manufactured since they are in higher demand and we're always pushing the boundaries of tech, so it's more expensive to build the old ones

i know that chips are getting smaller and more efficient and all of that stuff, so i guess in theory they also use less material and maybe that has an effect on the price of the older chips.

no idea if that's the case but that's just my totally crackpot theory. it's probably mostly due to inflation and all that crap but i do wonder if the actual manufacturing side plays a role in it.

@beardalaxy @mangeurdenuage

I think a lot of it is greed. They saw people bitched about the Switch 2 and then people lined up and pre-ordered it en masse anyways. I still think atleast half of the people that did probably did it to scalp/resell because they saw how many retards went hand over fist to overpay for a PS5 when the stimmy money was flowing.

Personally I'm not buying a Switch 2. I can emulate the 1st one just fine on PC and Nintendo is just becoming more anti-consumer by day like with the recent switch update fuckery killing game sharing and I'm still pissed how they screwed over people who bought the Wii U by prematurely killing it and not atleast giving a full 5 year cycle of support. Honestly Gamecube was the last good console imo and the OG DS was the last great handheld.

Kinda hoping now with the current market conditions the scalpers kind of get stuck holding the bag for once because honesty I'm tired of reseller / hustle culture ruining hobbies. Ex. all the grown manchildren fighting in box retail stores over boxes of pokémon cards to resell for $20-30 a pop

I can't 100% fault resellers though there obviously is a market and I'm equally as angry at the dumbfucks who keep overpaying because they need to CONSOOM new product and get excited for next product!

@ooignignoktoo @mangeurdenuage i bought a switch 2 because i'm a filthy nintendo fan, i love their games too much to not get it. mario kart world is going to eat up the rest of my year once i get it lol. but i totally understand anyone not wanting to get it, especially with so many other good games out there.

@beardalaxy @mangeurdenuage I mean if you bought it because you legit want the product fine fair enough, personally if I was going to buy one and I don't plan on to I'd wait til later in it's life cycle when they release a OLED model and there's more games available. Personally I tried Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS and wasn't really impressed. I did have fun with Mario Kart : DS though in it's heyday but the online was infested with cheaters with action replay carts and snaking.

My nephew got MK8 Deluxe in a bundle with their switch and they play it a fair share and have fun with it though I think the machine was used for playing Fortnite *eww* more than anything.

@ooignignoktoo @mangeurdenuage i played mario kart 8 DX for over 300 hours so yeah, i'm gonna love it :D
i am also super excited for kirby air riders and fast fusion. so yeah i think i'll be getting good value, personally speaking.
