Do you know of a good video editor tool that can do some more minimal stuff like converting formats and clipping? Preferably cross platform. Kdenlive and shotcut are both overkill and have clunky interfaces. Every editor ive touched just seems to be AIDS

No dont tell me to use ffmpeg in the terminal, retard
@yomiel yeah i love manually specifying millisecond level timestamps in the terminal

I know you are probably joking but this is unironic advice that somebody always says
@RustyCrab
I mean, I use ffmpeg to convert files, but to edit files I just use shotcut. It is overkill but I've never found a better editor on linux. The other ones (like da vinci resolve or blender) are even more bloated than it, so it's just what I've settled for.

@yomiel @RustyCrab corel videostudio 2022 with a $3 license code from kinguin

@beardalaxy @RustyCrab
I used to use CorelDRAW actually, though I don't think I've ever used their video editor.

@yomiel @RustyCrab it sucks ass. however, it's the only video editor i've found that doesn't force you to render clips again if you chop them from a larger video. you can just drag the clip back into the library and it will reference the original file but with timestamps for that clip.

@yomiel @RustyCrab for small edits i just use shotcut though, it's overkill for sure but it's not that difficult to just plop something in, cut it up, and export it.

if all you want to do is convert then there is a handy little site i just saw in my youtube recs the other day: p2r3.github.io/convert/
