Oh nice, another piece of my wire retainer on my bottom teeth is falling off. Guess I get to go the next week with my tongue scraping up against pointy metal again :meru_honk:

i was somehow able to bend it back into place and have it stay there unlike previous times. hopefully if it pops out again i can replicate this.
still going to go to the ortho when i can since removing it is only like $5 per tooth and i'm so sick of this shit.

next in the retainer saga, i found out that it will only be about $300 for new removable ones. that's waaaaay less than i thought it would be. might just go for that.

I had this happen, and my teeth starting being weird again, so I had them go put on a new one. I feel your struggle

@histoire3 i have to get some work done on those teeth too, because when i was a teen i really didn't take care of my teeth at all and i've just been basically staving off the inevitable for the past 10 years. the dentist won't work on those teeth unless i get the retainer off though so i have to get it off, pay for the dental work, then get a new retainer which costs even more money.... and by then they'll probably have shifted a bit anyway. kind of just gotta go with the flow i guess.

@Jens_Rasmussen yeah it's just them basically ungluing a wire that was fixed to my teeth to keep them straight after getting braces removed. nothing too crazy.

@beardalaxy @Jens_Rasmussen
Mine came loose on one side, right in the middle of the covid insanity. So, I accepted the adventure of removing it my self with some pliers xD

@hazlin @Jens_Rasmussen i had a coworker telling me how he clipped it with a guitar string cutter and then he filed it down with a jewel file. crazy work.

@beardalaxy @Jens_Rasmussen I used some idea combination of torch and pressure, to "roll" it out, came right out of the concrete and didn't even hurt xD

Though, I have zero confidence in explaining that in a reliable way xD

@hazlin @Jens_Rasmussen i think i know what you mean, but i don't even have a way of heating it up so that ain't gonna happen lol. that is basically what they do at the ortho though, just use a concentrated heat gun to melt the glue and then snip the wire and put some new glue on there.

@beardalaxy Everything "ortho" usually costs a minimum of 50$ here. Is the 5$ because your insurance covers most of it?
